Chris Whitaker

I started making these swingers for my own amusement and to display in my own home. I make them in Plymouth where I’ve lived and taught for the past twenty years. In a previous life I studied studio ceramics at Harrogate then Derby. I first saw John Maltby’s work at a gallery in Harrogate, Godfrey and Twatt (now Godfrey and Twott). I visited him during a university trip to the west county. I made pots for about fifteen years and spent time with Mike Dodd, Jim Malone and eventually John Pollex whose studio I used to share.
